April 13-17 8th Grade Band needs to finish one concept not covered before March 13 - mixed meter time signature - 5/8 & 7/8. Use your

signatures.html Next, you will need to send me a recording of you playing on your instrument or clapping the
6 examples of the of 5/8 and 7/8. Remember the eighth note gets one beat in 6/8 time. Please email it to [email protected].
7th Grade Band needs to look through the 6/8 exercises in your Essential Elements book 2. After you have practiced through
the exercises, you will need to record your self on your instrument for "Jolly Good Fellow" #104. If you don't have your
instrument, you may clap the rhythm to show you understand the concept. I would practice the 6/8 numbers 102, 103, 104, 105,
106 on Monday through Thursday. On Friday, record yourself playing or clapping # 104 and send to [email protected].
6th Grade Band needs to review Bb, Ab, and F scales. I want you to practice these three scales this week and begin working on a C scale. You can use your scale sheet or page 41 in the back of the Essential Elements band book. On Friday, please record
your self playing the C scale and email it to [email protected]. If you do not have your instrument, please write down the note names in order with the key signature and email it to me.
April 20-24 8th Grade Band - needs to play a scale of their choosing using a 5/8 and 7/8 rhythm. So instead of playing the scale in rhythm, they will
play it in a 5/8 and 7/8 pattern. Follow the attachment from Mr. Kitts and email assignment to [email protected] by Friday, April

6th Grade Band - I want you to write a brief description of enharmonics and to pair the different notes as enharmonics.
The notes that I'd like to be listed are G flat, C sharp, B flat, D flat, A sharp, D sharp, A flat, E flat, G sharp, and F sharp.

April 27-May 1 8th Grade Band - If you have finished the 5/8 & 7/8 assignment, you can view the videos below for your instrument.
7th Grade Band - We will continue working on the chromatic scale. For this week we will add to the Bb Chromatic Scale. This week
start on Low Concert F and go to the High Concert Bb using all of the chromatic notes between this octave and a half scale.
